Overview

The Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA) was created in 1976 when the Ohio Association of School Librarians and the Educational Media Council       of Ohio joined together. It quickly became and remains the premier Ohio organization for school library media personnel. Members include PreK-12 teachers and library media specialists, educational aides, college students, university professors, technology specialists, vendors, authors and literary specialists throughout Ohio and other states.

The organization is governed by a President, Past-President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and a board representing various geographical areas of Ohio. Additionally, we employ the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System (NEO-RLS) as our association management company at the OELMA office in Hudson.

All dues paying members are voting members, who receive updates via email, quarterly newsletters, and the yearly magazine. All members are eligible to serve the association in any capacity of service.

Mission Statement
