Conference Strategic Committee

The Conference Committee is a year-long project with the following year’s conference planning beginning as soon as the current year’s conference wraps up. There are many sub-committees necessary to create a awesome conference:

The Authors Sub-Committee locates possible authors to speak at conference, obtains approval from the board for their suggested authors, arranges any necessary transportation and logging and acts as OELMA’s official contact during the conference.

The Exhibitors Sub-Committee creates the exhibitor prospectus/sponsorship program, locates possible vendors and works with them to ensure their participation in the conference is beneficial for both our members and the exhibitors. This committee assists with the exhibit floor layout & set up, ensures vendor sponsorships are fulfilled and is OELMA’s official contact during the conference.

The Graduate Credit Sub-Committee works with the programming committee to offer graduate credit for attendees who desire to participate.

The Hospitality Sub-Committee plans and orchestrates after hours and networking events for attendees of the conference. These events may take place in or around the conference venue.

The Programming Sub-Committee creates the conference schedule, sets up and oversees the execution of all the sessions from the call to proposals to the day of the conference working with presenters throughout the process and creates the conference program.

They also work with the Communication and Regional Representation Sub-committees to grow membership and develop promotional information about OELMA.

The Nomination Sub-Committee conducts nominations and elections in accordance with provisions in the Bylaws of OELMA and identifies and develops leadership within the Association.

The Archives Sub-Committee maintains documents associated with the governing of OELMA.  It reviews best practices in archiving online documents and establishes procedures for collecting and storing OELMA's archival materials and records.

The Bylaws, Policy and Strategic Planning Sub-Committee maintains, monitors, and updates the official records of the Association. It prepares amendments or revisions to the By-laws and Policy when necessary and coordinates OELMA's strategic planning and visioning.

The Budget & Finance Sub-Committee works with the Treasurer to create and review OELMA's annual budget.
