OELMA News

The Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA) proudly joins the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) in implementing the framework of the Future Ready Schools to prepare our students for success. Future Ready Schools, a project of the Alliance for Excellent Education, strives to assist school leaders in developing, planning, and implementing instruction that allows students to excel in their technological journey towards college and career success. Future Ready Librarians is one component of the Future Ready Leadership team.  OELMA also joins the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) in supporting Future Ready Librarians.

OELMA supports ODE as Ohio strives to implement the Future Ready Framework focusing on librarians as leaders in their school buildings, school districts, and in the state.  As an organization, OELMA will provide the necessary tools, training, and strategies for the our membership to achieve the two main tenets of the Future Ready Librarians framework:

  1. How can librarians and libraries support Future Ready schools?
  2. How can librarians and libraries become more future ready?

OELMA is committed to the educational excellence and academic achievement of the students we serve.  In conjunction with the work of the state, the Ohio Department of Education, and the Future Ready Schools initiative, OELMA embraces creating personalized learning opportunities in the digital landscape of today’s learners.
