OELMA Literacy Leader Award
The OELMA Literacy Leader Award recognizes community organizations for exemplary support of literacy that reinforces student learning. Recipient(s) of this award will be recommended for an AASL Commendation by OELMA.
The OELMA Literacy Leader Award recipient receives an engraved trophy at the OELMA annual conference. The recipient’s name will be announced through the OELMA listserv, website and social media.
This award is not open to individuals, libraries, or library-related organizations. The OELMA Literacy Leader Award recipient will be selected from applicants and nominees who meet the following criteria:
Community organizations that provide exemplary support of literacy and nominated by an OELMA member
Demonstration of a strong, ongoing commitment to developing literacy through educational programming and/or grassroots literacy program implementation
Meets the minimum requirements on the OELMA Literacy Leader Award Checklist
Complete and upload the OELMA Awards Nominator Form Part A which requires a 250-word rationale that speaks to the nominee’s ongoing support of educational programs supporting literacy and learning. Use the OELMA Literacy Leader Award Checklist for specific examples.

Late materials will not be accepted. All application materials must be submitted to OELMA using the online application form by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. You will be able to upload supporting materials to the online form.
