Student Learning through Ohio School Libraries Timeline

There's been a great deal of talk on the listserv since the OELMA conference and Dr. Ross Todd's presentation of the preliminary findings from Student Learning through Ohio School Libraries. It's very important that OELMA keep everyone up-to-date on the timeline for releasing the findings. The presentation at OELMA was to give the first look at the results of the surveys. Dr. Todd and his team at Rutgers are still analyzing the results of the data and until that is complete, no official publication of findings is possible.

The anticipated timeline for publishing findings is:

Early December - Project Summary and published by OELMA to all members and posted to the Student Learning through Ohio School Libraries web site (link is on the OELMA home page) http://www.oelma.org/StudentLearning.htm A brief PowerPoint will also be available on the web site.

Feb./March - Release of the Tools and Resources CD for the project. OELMA is currently taking pre-orders for the CD and a form is available at the web site above.

Monograph - Dr. Todd and OELMA are considering a monograph, which will be a published book with a detailed presentation of the project and findings.

Press releases, journal articles and conference presentations - In the upcoming weeks and months, watch the web site above for announcements and promotional materials you can use locally.

OELMA understands the need to get the findings of this research project into the hands of Ohio administrators and legislators. Please continue to be patient as Dr. Todd finalizes the findings and OELMA develops a strategy for promotion of the project. If you have questions at this time, please contact Gayle Geitgey or Ann Tepe.
