You are cordially invited to attend the FREE event "Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: DEIB Advocacy in the Era of Book Bans." The event, sponsored by Kent State University iSchool and OELMA, will take place on June 20, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at NEOnet, located at 700 Graham Road in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

  • Network with public and school librarians, KSU students, teachers, and iSchool faculty!

  • Discuss censorship challenges and advocacy opportunities to develop action plans.

  • Learn about books for children and teens with inclusive voices from underrepresented groups.

  • Learn about programs to meet the needs of the underserved.

  • MLIS students attending can log 8 hours of practicum either in-person or virtually.
